From the unmistakably crisp, glassy response of a beautifully ambered X-braced Adirondack spruce top to the lush, saturated warmth of Honduran mahogany back and sides, this remarkably gently aged Depression-era Gibson L-00 was produced between 1934 and 1937 in Kalamazoo, MI— a brief and desirable production window marked by larger, vibrant sunburst finishes and tasteful cream binding around the top plate only, allowing the lightweight resonance of the instrument's solid mahogany back and sides to really shine. A confident and familiar soft V neck profile and fingerstyle-friendly 1 3/4" nut pairs perfectly with low, even action across a 24.75" scale rosewood fingerboard to make this vintage find one of the finest small body acoustics to ever pass through our Chicago collection.
This 1934-37 Gibson L-00 Adirondack Spruce/Mahogany Acoustic is in Excellent condition, part of a single-owner, climate controlled collection, with extremely light surface wear and climate-related aging (pictured) consistent with age and occasional appropriate use. Low, even action across fingerboard. No cracks, no neck reset, or bridge reglue. New saddle professionally cut and installed, does not include original saddle. Includes non-original vintage case, fits instrument securely (pictured).
