The crisp, articulate balance of a contoured solid spruce top and timeless tone of solid mahogany back and sides pairs perfectly with the familiar in-hand feel of a rosewood fingerboard with low, smooth action and classic A-style profile to make this well-traveled 1952 Gibson A-40 A-Style Mandolin a true vintage find for seasoned players and working performers alike— at a price that certainly leaves room for gas money. Notes:
This 1952 Gibson A-40 A-Style Mandolin is in Very Good condition, with very light visible wear consistent with age and appropriate light use, including stable top "sink" naturally with humidity changes over time, (pictured) does not affect playability or performance. Instrument professionally refinished in black, likely early in its life judging by finish aging. "Pam" carved into back of headstock (pictured). Tuners professionally replaced, again, likely early in instrument's life. Includes original hard case. Includes additional bridge without adjustment wheels (pictured).
