It's no secret that our Chicago storefront houses some acoustics with a serious working history, and this early 1980s MIK Coratone SF811 000 Acoustic Slide Conversion is a fine example. Only gently used in a home environment for much of its life, this instrument developed minor (but noticeable) neck bow after decades of Chicago winters, and was tastefully converted into a slide-only instrument. And can we say— we're so glad it was. This 000 just sings with a balanced laminate spruce/mahogany voice, while still packing a powerful 000 low-end response. At such an accessible price point, this is honestly the sort of instrument we'd usually refrain from listing online, but this 000 is just too cool not to send back out into the wild. Notes:
This Early 1980s Coratone MIK SF811 000 Acoustic Slide Conversion is in Very Good condition, fully functional, with light visible wear (pictured) consistent with age and occasional home use. Era-correct sealed tuners installed (upside down, maybe for slide conversion, maybe just for fun) at some point in this instrument's life, originals not included. Just to be extra clear, this instrument does have minor neck bow that inspired the slide conversion, and is being sold as a slide conversion. Does not include case.
