From its instantly recognizable ornate resonator to its beautifully carved mahogany neck heel and intricate headstock inlay, this late 1920s Bacon & Day USA Silver Bell No. 2 11" Plectrum Resonator Banjo is a truly gorgeous and increasingly rare piece of banjo history— but don't let its stylized looks fool you; this Silver Bell still packs a full-bodied, balanced, and articulate voice that's more than ready to get back to the club, studio, or living room session. Notes:
This Bacon & Day Silver Bell No. 2 Tenor Banjo is in Very Good condition, part of a single-owner, climate controlled collection with light visible wear consistent with age and appropriate use, including small notable patches of buckle wear on back (pictured) and a professionally repaired and stabilized hairline crack in headstock veneer (pictured). Small hole drilled into lower-treble side (pictured), likely for pickup install at some point in this banjo's life. Resonator attachment hardware mismatched (pictured), non-original. Clear head, bridge, and Five Star Planetary Tuners professionally installed, non-original.
All instruments from the Old Town School Music Store are professionally inspected and set-up before shipping, and directly support our missions, programs, and continued growth.
